This Privacy Policy explains how Kittito ("Kittito", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Kittito mobile application and website (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account information: phone number, selected role (Employer or Employee), and preferred language (English, Hindi, or Malayalam).
Profile information: name, photo, business details, work history, education, skills, and other information you add to your profile.
Documents & certificates: files you upload, such as certificates, ID/business documents, and business media.
Job & application data: job postings you create or apply to, application status, and related activity.
Messages: content you send through in-app messaging with other users.
Location information: approximate or precise location, if you grant permission, used to show relevant nearby jobs or candidates.
Device & usage information: device identifiers, app version, and general usage data collected automatically to operate and improve the Service.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

Create and manage your account, including phone number verification via OTP.
Match Employees with relevant job opportunities and Employers with relevant candidates.
Enable core features such as job postings, applications, messaging, and profile management.
Personalize your experience, including language preference and location-based job discovery.
Communicate with you about your account, applications, and updates to the Service.
Maintain the safety, security, and integrity of the Service, and prevent fraud or misuse.

Kittito is a two-sided marketplace, so some information is shared between users by design:

When an Employee applies to a job, their profile, work history, and relevant documents/certificates become visible to the Employer who posted that job.
When an Employer posts a job, their business profile and job details are visible to Employees browsing or searching for work.
Messages sent through the Service are visible to the sender and recipient.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers who help us operate the Service (see Section 5), or when required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.

5. Third-Party Services

Kittito uses trusted third-party providers to operate the Service, including:

Firebase (Google): phone number authentication and app infrastructure.
Cloud storage providers: secure storage of uploaded documents, certificates, and media.
Mapping & geolocation services: to power location-based job and candidate discovery.

These providers process information on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect it in line with this Policy.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

7. Security

We use technical and organizational measures — including secure storage, encrypted transmission, and access controls — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights & Choices

You can access and update most of your profile information directly within the app.
You can control location permissions through your device settings at any time.
You can request deletion of your account and associated personal information by contacting us.
You can choose your preferred language (English, Hindi, or Malayalam) within the app.

Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection laws, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 12.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and Employer accounts require users to be at least 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children outside these limits. If we learn that we have done so, we will take steps to delete that information.

10. International Transfer

Kittito primarily operates in India, and your information is generally processed and stored within or accessible from India. Where our third-party service providers process data outside your country of residence, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
